Maybe raw meat isn't the most appetizing picture but just wait for 8 hours to pass!
Many of you will appreciate this - whether you're home all day changing diapers or working on the outside - slow cooker spaghetti sauce! I've always thought of spaghetti as something I had to set aside an hour or two to cook. There was sautéing the onions and garlic, browning the meat etc. But check out this discovery. Put it ALL in the crockpot, raw.
Yes there are some shortcuts here - like jarred sauce. But we aren't here to be food snobs are we? We're here to get real. So here's what I used for a mostly* organic, rich red meat sauce. At the end of the day all you have to do is boil your pasta. But if you're super short on time yo can always cook that the night before and store it.
Grass-fed ground beef (it smells tastes and IS so much better for you than commercial beef!)
Jar of Wild Oats sauce
Can of organic diced tomatoes
A white onion, diced
A couple T.s of minced garlic
salt-n-peppa and Italian dried herbs like thyme, rosemary, basil. A T. or 2.
A pinch of sugar
Ok your mind's gonna be blown. Throw all of these ingredients in the crock pot. Add a cup of water. Turn it on low. Go to work. Come home to your house smelling like an Italian eatery. Have a glass of red wine. You might grab a spatula and do a little chop/stir to break up the meat. Done.
